High School Equivalency · Recognized by IBCC & HEC

Your Matric, on your terms.
Four subjects. One credential.

The GED lets you prove high-school-level knowledge without redoing years of school. Pass each subject on its own schedule, at your own pace — and Lumina prepares you for every one of them, live, from wherever you live.

What "Passing" Looks Like

Each subject is scored out of 200 — clear the line, and that subject is done for good.

Mathematical Reasoning 115 min
Science 90 min
Social Studies 70 min
Reasoning Through Language Arts 150 min

Illustrative scores. A minimum of 145 out of 200 is required per subject to pass.

Why Families Choose GED

Built for the student who can't wait for the next academic year.

Maybe school was interrupted by a move abroad. Maybe years have already passed since leaving formal education. Maybe the family is simply ready for the next step now, not in September. The GED doesn't ask why — it asks what you know, and lets you show it.

There's no requirement to have completed Matric or O-Levels first. No essay marathon. Just four focused subjects, each one independently passable, each one yours to schedule.

The Four Subjects

Independent tests. Take them one at a time, or all together.

Fail one, and only that one needs a retake — the other three stay passed. Here's what each subject actually covers.

150 minutes · the longest section

Reasoning Through Language Arts

Reading comprehension across informational and literary passages, grammar and editing, and a timed extended response where you build an argument from two source texts. This is the section that rewards steady practice most — Lumina's RLA drills focus on pacing under pressure as much as the writing itself.

Most time-intensive of the four
115 minutes

Mathematical Reasoning

Algebra carries the bulk of this section, alongside geometry, ratios, and graph interpretation. An approved on-screen calculator is provided — Lumina teaches students to use it efficiently, not just correctly.

90 minutes

Science

Life science, physical science, and earth & space science, tested through data interpretation rather than memorized facts. The skill being assessed is reading a chart correctly under time pressure.

70 minutes

Social Studies

Civics, US history, economics, and geography, again leaning on source-based reasoning over recall. The shortest section, and often the one students underestimate.

Recognition That Actually Matters Back Home

Equivalent to Intermediate. Accepted where it counts.

IBCC Equivalence

Recognized by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen as equal to Intermediate / FA / FSc for use in Pakistan.

HEC Recognized

Accepted by the Higher Education Commission, opening the door to university admission in Pakistan and abroad.

Internationally Portable

No US residency required. Test from Pakistan or the GCC, and the credential travels with the family wherever they move next.

Who can take it

Generally open from age 16, with no requirement to have completed Matric or O-Levels beforehand. A valid CNIC, B-Form, or passport is needed to register.

How it's taken

Fully computer-based at an authorized test center — no paper format, no handwriting under exam stress.

How Lumina Gets You There

The same school, built around four subjects instead of four years.

Live classes, subject by subject

Work through one subject at a time with a live teacher, instead of sitting through unrelated material you've already mastered.

Timed practice under real conditions

Full-length timed mock tests for each subject, so test-day pacing stops being the thing that costs you marks.

Test-center guidance for your country

Help locating and registering at an authorized center, whether you're sitting the test from Pakistan or the GCC.

A counselor who answers on WhatsApp

Questions about eligibility, equivalence, or pacing get a real answer from someone who knows the GED, not a call center script.

Ready When You Are

Four subjects stand between here and your Intermediate equivalence.
