KG stands for Kindergarten. KG-1 is the first year of kindergarten for children aged 4 to 5. KG-2 is the second year for children aged 5 to 6. Together they form the Early Years Foundation Stage — the most important period for building the skills, habits, and love of learning that your child will carry through their entire school life.
Many Pakistani families living in the Gulf hesitate to spend SAR 20,000 to SAR 40,000 per year on an international kindergarten when high quality online KG schooling delivers the same educational outcomes at a much more affordable cost.
• Your child stays connected to Pakistani culture, Urdu language, and Islamic values from day one.
• Classes scheduled in Gulf-friendly timings — morning and evening sessions available.
• Your child learns alongside other Pakistani children, creating a familiar and comfortable environment.
• Parents can monitor every class and stay closely involved in their child's learning.
KG-1 at Lumina follows the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum combined with Pakistani cultural and Islamic values:
• Literacy — Alphabet, phonics, pre-reading skills, and vocabulary in English and Urdu.
• Numeracy — Counting 1-20, number recognition, basic shapes, and early number sense through games.
• Urdu Language — Compulsory subject taught by native Urdu-speaking teachers.
• Islamic Studies — Basic duas, names of Allah, and simple stories from Islamic history.
• Social Development — Interacting with others, sharing, taking turns, and building confidence.
• Creative Arts — Drawing, colouring, craft activities, and physical exercises for fine motor skills.
KG-2 builds on KG-1 and prepares your child fully for Grade 1:
• Reading and Writing — Simple sentences in English and Urdu. Advanced phonics development.
• Mathematics — Numbers up to 100, addition and subtraction, measurement, and patterns.
• Islamic Studies — Short surahs, basics of wudu and salah, stories of the prophets.
• Science Awareness — Plants, animals, weather, and the human body through curiosity-building lessons.
• Computer Basics — Keyboard, mouse, and basic digital literacy skills.
At Lumina Global School, KG classes are live every day in an interactive online classroom. Each 3-hour session is split into short engaging segments. Teachers use colourful visuals, songs, stories, and interactive games to keep children engaged. The teacher to student ratio is 1:8, ensuring every child gets individual attention.
Morning sessions: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM KSA time. Evening sessions: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM KSA time.
